Honors: Top Forty under Forty

Jessica Gilbert, formerly of Nome, was named as one of the distinguished professionals in the 2023 class of Top Forty under Forty. The Alaska Journal of Commerce holds this annual competition to recognize professional excellence and commitment to the community.

Gilbert is a corporate communications manager for telecommunications provider MTA and lives in Palmer. She is the daughter of Nome’s Melissa Ford. Asked what her first job was she said “In Nome, I basically lived at the swimming pool. I swam competitively and so it was only natural that my first job would be the front office of the pool.”

Gilbert has been a board member of the non-profit Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis group, and is now on the board of directors for the Palmer Food Bank
