Phillip Joseph Dexter was born in Golovin, Alaska, January 21,1924 to Molly Ann Dexter. He passed at 98-years-of-age on July 24, 2022 at NSHC Quyana Care Center.

Phillip was a shipping and receiving technician, maintenance technician to the family’s Trading Post in Council, White Mountain and Golovin.  He was also a mailman for folks who lived out of village setting, he was aVeteran of Alaska Territorial Guard, served in the Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for the USS Mining Company as straw boss, and was a gold smelter, Nome Elementary School janitor, volunteer Cub Scout assistant, Mt. Edgecumbe maintenance man, Nome-Beltz High School maintenance man, Golovin school maintenance man and a commercial fisherman.  The best job he ever did was being a father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.

Phillip wanted people to know, “I was happy!”
